My name is Fuad Samatar, and my path into the built environment began with drawing.

From an early age, I focused on realism—studying light, shadow, and proportion, and translating what I saw into detailed work. That process taught me how to observe carefully and communicate ideas clearly.

Later, I was introduced to drafting and 3D modeling, which connected creativity with structure and showed me how ideas could be built.

I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at the University of Minnesota, where I developed a strong foundation in how projects are actually delivered.

I later completed a Master of Architecture at the Boston Architectural College, where my approach to design was refined through clarity, restraint, and intention.

After graduate school, I worked across multiple roles in the industry, including land surveying, electrical design, and architectural design.

Each role provided a different perspective on the building process.

Through this experience, one thing became clear:

When design and construction are separated, responsibility becomes fragmented.

Design decisions lose connection to real-world execution, and construction teams are left solving problems that should have been addressed earlier.
